Final confirmation of your reservation is made upon receipt of 50% of the total room rate charges (or the full amount of a 1 night stay). Balance due upon check-in.

We welcome well behaved children: Since the Inn is not child-proof, children under 8 are to be accompanied by an adult at all times. In consideration of our other guests, children may not engage in horseplay, run or be loud inside the inn. You will need to bring a pack and play for your small children (we don't supply cribs). We have a community refrigerator in the dining room but not in the bedrooms so we suggest you bring a small cooler for your child's needs.
No candles or incense please. Smoking allowed on the grounds & porches (away from open windows, doors and air conditioners).
A two night minimum is in effect on weekends mid June through mid September and 3 night minimum on Holidays.

Beach Chairs & Umbrellas: We do not supply beach chairs or umbrellas however we do have a few beach chairs available for folks who take the train or plane. Beach gear can be purchased at The Beach House up the street from us.
Check-in / Check-out:
Check-in is from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We need to know your approximate time of arrival. Later check-ins can be arranged with advanced notice only.
Check-out is 11:00 am. Later check-out may be arranged when available. Ask about charges.
In the event you won't be able to use your reservation, you must cancel at least 2 weeks in advance of your arrival date. If you cancel within the 2 week period preceding your arrival, or if you must end your stay early, a refund will be remitted only if we are able to rebook the room. All cancellations will be charged a $25. processing fee per room.
Pets: We're sorry that we cannot accommodate pets. We know how special they are so we recommend 2 excellent boarding facilities within 1/2 hour from the inn:

Information To Make Your Stay More Comfortable
Your Innkeepers are Janet & Glenn Kithcart, and we are here to make your getaway enjoyable and relaxing. Our Inn has a proud history for fine accommodations and friendly hospitality. We promise to help you have a great time and create wonderful memories. Our goal is to be the special kind of place that you'll want to come back to again and again. Feel free to help us with any suggestions you think may improve the Inn.
A full serve multiple choice hot breakfast is served in the dining room & our sunlit solarium from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Please feel welcome to enjoy coffee or tea from approximately 6:30 AM. We ask that you use the paper cups with lids to bring beverages outside the dining area.
Entering And Exiting The Inn
The side door from the parking lot is for guest use. It has a combination lock and the number is written on your check-in sheet. Before leaving the building, practice a few times so you'll have no trouble re-entering. The front door is kept locked at all times and will not open with the combination. If the doorbell rings please allow one of the staff to answer.
We have wireless access to the internet. Your computer should find the signal by itself. If you have a problem, please speak to Glenn.
The bottled water machine in the parking lot accepts one dollar bills and change. Ice is available from the machine in the dining room. There are small ice buckets in all rooms. If you need to fill a large cooler, please buy a bag of ice at Curtis Central Market 2 blocks north on Route 35 and Mount St.
Semi-private And Shared Hall Baths
When sharing a bath please bring your personal items back to your room & bring used towels back to the towel bar in your room. They will be replaced each day along with your soap & shampoo. If you are sharing with an adjoining room please knock before entering, and remember to leave access by unlocking your neighbor's door from inside the bathroom. Hall bathrooms are for the use of guests in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4 & 10 only.
Children twelve and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times and should not be given the combination to the side entrance. We expect children to behave appropriately which means no shouting or running indoors or on the porches. Lots of folks come for a quiet or romantic getaway and we want every one to enjoy their stay. We shall inform you if someone complains regarding your children. Please no markers crayons, paints, etc.
New Jersey state law does not permit smoking inside the Inn. In addition to fines for violation of the law, a $200 professional cleaning fee will charged to your account (or credit card). We do allow you to have your smokes on the porches where chairs and ashtrays are provided for your comfort. Candles and incense are not permitted in the Inn.
Bay Head Beaches
Badges (supplied by us) are required for age 12 and up between June 15 and Labor Day. Replacement of a lost badge is $60. Consumption of any food or beverages is prohibited with the exception of water in clear bottles. You may leave your coolers at the beach entrance. Surfing & kayaking are allowed in designated areas only. Lifeguard's Flag Signals: Red - Dangerous conditions, swimming prohibited. Yellow - Swim at guard's discretion. Green - Good swimming conditions. No bonfires, pets or vehicles allowed on the beach.
Outdoor showers with dressing areas are located behind the fenced area by the garage (please rinse sand off before reentering the Inn). There is a clothes line in this area for hanging your beach towel to dry for re-use. The porches are for the enjoyment of all registered guests of the Inn. When sitting on the porch please remember that some people may be sleeping. Area information can be found in the Bay Head Visitor's Guide booklet along with other brochures in the dining & living rooms. Activity and Restaurant guides are in the sunroom off the living room.

Check-out is firm at 11 AM. Please remember to return your beach badges along with your room key. We respectfully ask you to be prompt about 11 AM check-out because housekeeping and maintenance have only a few hours to make the Inn ready for new guests. After check-out, you may use the outdoor showers all day. If you are planning on remaining in Bay Head, you will be able to find free parking on many of our side streets and badges can purchased at the B.H.I.A. which is located on Mount St. (2 blocks north on Route 35, then left on Mount St. to the end).
We try to remain on the premises at all times. We can be reached by ringing the bell located on the wall in the dining room by the kitchen door. When we are out we forward the Bentley Inn phone to our cell phone. We respectfully ask that you do not ring between 7 PM and 8 AM unless it is an emergency.
